Thank you Church!
Kelly and I are truly grateful to God for His mercy and for how He has raised the church up to be such a blessing. Through prayer, financial support, housing, food, fellowship, and constant encouragement, God’s people have truly been His hands and feet during this challenging time. We have developed a fresh appreciation for the love of the church exemplifying the hands and feet of Jesus. To all of you who have supported us, thank you, and praise God!
Medical Update
This week, Monday, we went to have Kelly’s MRI. On Wednesday, we met with her neuro-oncologist at Tampa General Hospital (TGH) to discuss the results. The TGH neuro-oncologist echoed what the neurosurgeon in Nairobi had said: They confirmed that there is a lesion, but they cannot determine whether it is a tumor or inflammation based on the MRI results, even with the advanced technology available in the USA compared to the MRI in Kenya. A biopsy was recommended in order to provide definitive answers.
We will meet with a TGH neurosurgeon next Tuesday to schedule the brain biopsy. After the biopsy, we will have a clearer understanding of Kelly's condition and the next steps for her treatment.
Despite the uncertainties, we are encouraged by the information from TGH. If Kelly does have a tumor, it is treatable, and we have caught it early. While we await further clarification, we choose to remain hopeful and optimistic about the future.
We humbly ask for your continued prayers, with our verse for this season in mind, 1 Peter 5:10. Please pray specifically for protection during the biopsy, as the lesion is located deep within the brain. We believe in the power of God through the prayers of the saints. Whether it is a miraculous healing or a successful medical treatment, we trust that it will be achieved through the Lord’s power (Psalm 103:2-3). Your prayers provide us with strength, and we deeply appreciate your support on this journey.
God Bless You All!
