Hi Everyone!
Well, we are back in the swing of things here in Kenya! We’ve been enjoying some frigid temperatures here- lows in the 40s, highs in the low 70s, although it’s starting to warm up- highs in the low 80s, lows in the 50s)

Conferences:

The month of August is always a busy month for us, since Kenyan schools are closed for a holiday and churches love to host conferences for youth and church leaders during that time. We taught 26 total conferences and trained more than 3000 people! This month we also taught our largest conference ever - a Kuza Seminar to 700 high school and college students in Bomet, Kenya. After teaching our lesson on salvation, Simeon and Evans gave an opportunity for the students to receive Christ. They said there were so many hands that went up, there was not room at the altar to accommodate them. God really moved in that conference, and we are grateful.

Kuza:

Matt is continuing to work hard on the Kuza app. We are planning to start posting weekly articles on https://kuza.africa. The radio station we’ve been partnered with, Kubamba Radio, has been going through some tough times financially, so please pray with us for God to raise up someone in the gap for them, and for a continued fruitful partnership.

Personal:

The first few weeks of starting school and leaving Zeke were a little hard on Kelly. Thankfully, we have someone watching Zeke while Kelly is at work. Her name is Sarah and she is doing SUCH a great job taking care of him. He’s just starting crawling, and wanting to pull up to stand. He is so much fun! He’s got two teeth and is starting to feed himself. We also took him camping for the first time and he did great!

Good Story:

Matt happened to run into a pastor called Nicholas, who had been trained by us in youth ministry. He shared that they started with 8 youth, and have 29 that faithfully come. Several parents of the youth have also started coming to the church. One of the youth is studying to be a music pastor, and another takes the church’s projector to show the “Jesus Film” in various parts of their home area. This film ministry they’ve started has led to a few thousand salvations. You never know how powerfully God can use a conference to see His church grow!

Thank you for your partnership in the gospel! —Matt and Kelly

Prayer Request:

  1. Pray for our Kuza ministry to continue growing stronger.

  2. Pray for the 12 conferences we have planned this month to be well- attended and for future fruit.

  3. Pray for Kelly’s health- she is fine, but dealing with migraines, some persistent neck pain, and eczema (yes, I’m falling apart. Thank you mid- late 30’s...it’s always something.)
